The most important project I am
currently working on is my Coloring Book. I
remember being 19 years old and watching my then 17 year old girlfriend
coloring in coloring books. She was a bit of a simple girl but she
seemed to enjoy coloring and wasn't bad at it at all. At any rate it
occurred to me then that I might enjoy coloring myself if there were
something other than cheesy Disney coloring books to color.
Many years later when I got my first computer and a
scanner I decided I would turn a couple of my pictures into coloring
book pictures. The idea kind of grew on me that maybe I could provide
something that kids and young adults or even full grown people might
actually be interested in coloring. Most of my works tended to be a
little geometrically abstract but people seemed to like them.
Over the last year I have been putting together a bunch of pictures that
I want to release as a coloring book. This book is still in the making
and will one day be available - for sale of
course.
Here are a few links to some of the stuff I have done
before really getting started on the book. Grab the image or the
printable word document. I made those ones without
any breaks in the lines so they could be colored on the computer as
well. Images are saved as jpegs so they would need to be changed to bitmaps and cleaned back down to
black and white. Do not limit your self to flat colors on the last two,
be creative.
Here are a couple of ones I did just for fun. You can
grab the gif image here and change it to a .bmp, .psd, .psp file and
then work on them on your computer or download the word doc which is
ready to print off. It was quite time consuming on both counts to remove
all the color.

Here is my coloring book version of
The Scream by Edvard Munch. I made this one in gray so the lines
would be easy to color over. If you want the ready to print
version then

This first one is Starry Night by Vin-Chin-Zo
Van Gogh. Who wouldn't want to color a classic? If you want the
ready to print version then

The next piece was a picture I found by
Ursula Vernon. It is not exactly the image she did but
she gave me permission to offer my copy anyway. Get the print
ready version
