She Comes

She comes for me in shadows
veiled by night and hungry
to claim me
to name me as her own.
Midnight rhythms beckon,
"Shall we dance tonight?"
And I am quick to answer
and rise to meet the challenge.
Delicate fingertips
stir the shadows
and reach into her soul
and in that echoing darkness
comes the drumming
of erratic hearts
different beats
pay compliments
in syncopated reverie
and locked in rhythmic bliss
and in the dark.
A fire born that builds
with every beat.
Bright and flickering
licking flames
climb high and consume us
as we melt into
the melody of moment
she comes for me in shadows
wrapped in red rhythms
of desire
And I with mirrored sentiment
have come for her as well
and we two together
on a darkened night
molt and melt as one.
and burn in shadows fire.
ashes to ashes.
